What Your Wedding Videographer Wants You to Know
Your wedding day is one of the most important and memorable days of your life, and capturing those moments on video is the perfect way to relive them for years to come. As a wedding videographer, there are a few things I wish every couple knew to ensure we create the best possible video of their big day.
1. Communication is Key
Before your wedding day, I like to make sure that I know what the couple’s vision is for their wedding day and what kind of video they want. What moments are most important to you? Do you have any special requests or specific people you want captured? The more details you provide, the better I can tailor the video to your expectations.
2. Trust the Process
On the wedding day, trust that I know what I’m doing. I’m looking to capturing the most beautiful, candid moments, and I’ve worked through many weddings before. While you’ll be busy enjoying the day, I’ll be in the background ensuring we capture everything you’ll want to remember, from the tiniest details to the big moments.
3. Don’t Forget the Audio
Video is more than just visuals—audio is just as important! I want to make sure your vows, speeches, and those sweet little whispers are clearly heard. To help, make sure there is a speaker and microphone for your ceremony.
4. Be Ready for the Moments You Don’t Expect
Sometimes, the best moments aren’t the ones you planned for. My job is to capture the joy, the emotions, and the genuine interactions happening all around you. So, be open to those spontaneous moments—whether it’s a tear-jerking speech or a dance move that surprises everyone.
5. Give Us Time to Work
I know the timeline of your wedding day is packed, but allocating some extra time for portraits or video shots can make a big difference. I don’t need hours, just a few minutes to film the two of you together, and I promise it’ll result in stunning, timeless footage.
Your wedding video is more than just a recap of the day—it’s a story. By keeping these tips in mind, you’ll help me tell yours beautifully!
